Fixing data race (misread the manual on unique_lock)

Updated linting standards. Making initial release v0.3.2. Next steps: implement wrapper for removing the distinction between returning concrete and reference types to allow fluent singleton interaction. End goal is to drop std::shared_ptr from the API syntax and instead have something like Access<T> that can either store a reference or an instance and transparently wraps both.

Initial FOSS release under BSD license.
