cleaned up interface refactor a bit. TODO: move index into address map interface.

Adding documentation, WIP on adjusting interconnect interface to suppport an indirect implementation

Tried to make a better readme.

Fixed several bugs with interconnect topology. Now correct, but with more volatility in comparison. Looking into a few small optimizations....not clear if sentinel cache is a win
