Handle case where today's data is not yet available.

Formatting fixes. Remove unused var. Add tests for stocks.

Force the user to pass an end date. The library shouldn't have to guess

Remove datadir from the doc. It is now passed as an arg of functions _save and doesn't need to be an env_variable

Removed too many functions. Just parse date is unnecessary
